Mr Bean’s Holiday

Tuesday, November 27th, 2007

OVERVIEW: Mr. Bean’s Holiday is the worldwide box office hit and a must-own DVD on November 27! Rowan Atkinson returns to the role he made famous as the bumbling, chaos-causing, social misfit Mr. Bean. In this hilarious comedy, Mr. Bean is heading to the south of France for a simple holiday in the sun. His journey to the Riviera soon becomes one of mischief and mayhem. Laugh-out-loud funny and yet still heart-warming, this is a Mr. Bean adventure that audiences of all ages will want to watch again and again.

· Over 22 Minutes of Hilarious Deleted scenes.

· French Beans: Mr. Bean’s Holiday was filmed in some of the most beautiful parts of France – from the Champs d’Elysee in Paris, to Provence in the south of France. Follow the filmmakers as they head south on their journey to Cannes.

· Beans In Cannes: The filmmakers were given unique access to the red carpet at Cannes. This feature takes a special look at filming at the world’s most famous international film festival.

· The Human Bean: Take a look at the man behind the character as cast and crew give their views on Rowan Atkinson and how he has impressed them with his approach to the role.

SYNOPSIS: Rowan Atkinson returns to the iconic role that made him an international star in ‘Mr. Bean’s Holiday.’ In his latest misadventure, Mr. Bean–the nearly wordless misfit who seems to be followed by a trail of pratfalls and hijinks–goes on holiday to the French Riviera and becomes ensnared in a European adventure of cinematic proportions. Tired of the dreary, wet London weather, Bean packs up his suitcase and camcorder to head to Cannes for some sun on the beach. Ah…vacation. But his trip doesn’t go as smoothly as he had hoped when the bumbling Bean falls face first into a series of mishaps and fortunate coincidences, far-fetched enough to make his own avant-garde film. Wrongly thought to be both kidnapper and acclaimed filmmaker, he has some serious explaining to do after wreaking havoc across the French countryside and arriving at his vacation spot with a Romanian filmmaker’s precocious son and an aspiring actress in tow. Will Bean be arrested by the gendarmes or end up winning the Palme d’Or? It’s all caught on camera as Atkinson again applies his awkward athleticism to a comedy of errors in “Mr. Bean’s Holiday.”

Watched most of it. Not my cup of tea, but a few of the kids managed to watch it all.

There are a few additional copies to giveaway. Since Moody Mama marks its fifth year, whoever donates $5 or more will be entered to win this dvd. Donations will be used to fulfill wishes from the Christmas tree.

BURBANK, California, November 05, 2007 – The quest for the five long-lost jewels of the Corona Aurora continues in Power Rangers: Operation Overdrive, Volume 3 coming to DVD on November 27, 2007 from Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment. The latest installment in a five-volume set includes seven episodes of the exhilarating live action series plus an exciting interactive game and behind-the-scenes interviews with the Rangers themselves.

The courageous superheroes journey to Mexico, where their mission attracts the attention of a host of evildoers intent on claiming the gemstone as their own.

Adding to the growing army that stands between the gemstone and the Rangers is the arrival of the powerful Fearcats. With the Thunder God Thor and his legendary hammer at their sides, the Rangers face an ambush of secret weapons, powerful robots and seemingly unstoppable foes in a battle that will decide the fate of the entire universe.

Power Rangers: Operation Overdrive Volume 3 includes the next exclusive installment of two unbeatable bonus features. Reserve Ranger Training Course: Level 3 - Blue Jewel

Ranger Vehicles: Get the lowdown on each Power Ranger’s unique, specially designed vehicle in exclusive personal interviews.

The long-running action-adventure series airs over 65 times a week in more than 40 territories worldwide and inspired the best selling action figure brand of all time. The POWER RANGERS OPERATION OVERDRIVE franchise promotes the power of teamwork and the importance of standing up for what is right, as well as self respect, self-esteem and self-confidence.

Kids have always loved Power Rangers, but this one was a little hard to … follow? Swallow? Not sure I can put my finger on it. The others were colorful and appealed to the kids no matter how old they were, and this one tried for more story line, I think. Kids still watched it, but they immediately took it out when it was done, didn’t watch the bonus features, and haven’t mentioned it since. Just odd for them. Especially for Power Rangers.

But when the doomed luxury liner collides with an iceberg in the frigid North Atlantic, their passionate love affair becomes a thrilling race for survival. Bratz: The Movie

Sunday, November 18th, 2007

On behalf of Lionsgate Home Entertainment, we are pleased to announce the DVD release of the first-ever live-action feature, based on the popular Bratz dolls, Bratz: the Movie on November 27th! Bratz: the Movie tells a story of friendship, empowerment and pursuing your passion through a unique mix of song, dance, and of course, fashion! The DVD is loaded with fabulous extras girls will love including over 50 minutes of featurettes that look at the casting process, fashion and style of the girls, behind-the-scenes of the production, music and dancing from the film, plus deleted scenes, and the music videos “Fearless” and “Rainy Day.” Both moms and girls alike will be adding the new DVD to the top of their Holiday list.

The Bratz girls—Yasmin (Nathalia Ramos), Jade (Janel Parrish), Cloe (Skyler Shaye) and Sasha (Logan Browning) - have been best friends forever and even made a pinky promise to always stick together. But when they become students at Carry Nation High School, they find that social cliques — and the domineering school president, Meredith — are determined to tear them apart! Even though they love following their own dreams, the girls really miss each other. Before long, they realize they can pursue their own passions and be friends, so they set out to end peer pressure forever. Through song, dance, and, of course, fashion, they teach the whole school the true meaning of empowerment, honesty, and most importantly, friendship.

  • Seven deleted scenes
  • Two music videos: “Fearless” and “Rainy Day”
  • Over 50 minutes of 12 featurettes

The kids and I sat down to watch this. The older boys weren’t thrilled with it, but I didn’t expect them to be. It was a cute show, and seemed to hold the attention of the 6yo girl. The boys roamed in and out, and never seemed to connect with the movie.

Overall though, it wasn’t bad.

The Bratz Are Helping To Send Four Girls To College With A $60,000 Scholarship Contest!

On behalf of Lionsgate Home Entertainment, we are pleased to announce they will be awarding $60,000 in college scholarships in promotion of the Bratz: The Movie DVD release on November 27th! A total of four scholarships will be awarded, each worth $15,000, though an essay contest asking girls, “What are you most passionate about in life and how would you use this scholarship to help you grow?”  The Bratz are best friends, but also have individual passions such as singing, chemistry, soccer, and dance.  The scholarships, named for each of the Bratz — Yasmin, Cloe, Sasha, and Jade – will be awarded to children that embody a passionate spirit for life. The Bratz Scholarship Contest is closely aligned with the positive values represented in the film, including a storyline where these “BFF’s” compete in a talent show for their very-own chance to win a college scholarship!  Details on prizing and how to enter will be included inside the DVD available today, November 27th.

 Available for the First Time
In A 2-DVD Set NOVEMBER 13, 2007 FROM

In 1991, NBC amped up their Saturday mornings by combining two of their animated powerhouses into one half-hour time slot with Captain N & The New Super Mario World.

Based on the hit video game of the same name, The New Super Mario World completes the animated adventures of Nintendo’s iconic heroes – the Super Mario Brothers (Mario and Luigi), Princess Toadstool, and their dinosaur friend Yoshi, who band together on Dinosaur Island to fight King Koopa and the Koopa kids.

And in Captain N: The Game Master, ordinary California teenager Kevin Keene becomes Captain N, the hero of Videoland – a universe where Nintendo video games are real!  Captain N and his dog Duke join the N Team, which consists of fellow crime fighters Princess Lana, Simon Belmont, Kid Icarus, and Game Boy.  Come along for the ride as the N Team dukes it out against Mother Brain’s most heinous henchmen: King Hippo, the Eggplant Wizard, Count Dracula, and Dr. Wily.  Their ultimate quest is to fulfill an ancient prophecy and bring the evil villainess Mother Brain to justice once and for all!

Captain N & The New Super Mario World originally aired for one season on NBC in the fall of 1991.  Each half-hour episode was split into two unrelated segments.  Captain N aired on its own for 2 seasons before being paired with Super Mario World for its 3rd season.  Super Mario World followed closely on the success of previous Mario Bros. cartoons The Super Mario Bros. Super Show and The Adventures  of Super Mario 3.  Captain N & The New Super Mario World 2-DVD set will be available on November 13, 2007 for $29.99 SRP.

Kids are watching this right now. Even the 12yo is watching. He seems to like it. I happen to think it’s cheesy as hell, but they are transfixed to the screen.

Mork & Mindy - The Third Season

Wednesday, November 14th, 2007

Synopsis: Mork & Mindy was a spin-off from an episode of Happy Days seen in February 1978, in which an alien from the planet Ork landed on Earth and attempted to kidnap Richie. So popular was the nutty character created by Robin Williams that Williams was given his own series in the fall of 1978, and it became an instant hit. Mork was a misfit on his own planet because his sense of humor (he was heard to call the Orkan leader, Orson, “cosmic breath”). So the humorless Orkans sent him off to study Earthlings, whose “crazy” customs they had never been able to understand. Mork landed, in a giant eggshell near Boulder, Colorado. There he was befriended by pretty Mindy McConnell, a clerk at the music store run by her father, Frederick. Mork looked human, but his strange mixture of Orkan and Earthling customs–such as wearing a suit, but putting it on backwards, or sitting in a chair, but upside down–led most people to think of him as just as some kind of nut. Mindy knew where he came from, and helped him adjust to Earth’s strange ways. She also let him stay in the attic of her apartment house, which scandalized her conservative father, but not her swinging grandmother, Cora.

Actors: Robin Williams, Ralph James, Pam Dawber, Tom Poston

MD and I enjoyed watching this for awhile. It was fun to remember watching them as kids. Unfortunately, the thrill didn’t last long. Maybe that was because neither of us were avid M&M watchers in the first place? I liked it, but I could take it or leave it back them. Nothing’s really changed now.
