Now that I’m a little calmer. Tony called me this morning and said that they hadn’t been able to get to everyone on Tuesday and to see if I could have a phone interview today at 9am. TOld him sure, and he said – don’t get your hopes up, this is just an interview. 15000 applicants – and it looked like only 20 families awarded. I said ok, and waited for 9am.

They called – SLacker from the morning show was the one that called, and him and tony and some other guy were on speaker. I might have been on the air, and for that i feel real stupid, but oh well. They asked me some questions, and then said – how are doing on food for the holidays? And then he asked if we were able to get any presents this year. Told him I thought we would be ok.

Then he said – well, Angelia,I think we are going to make your day. How about a wheelchair van – with a lift from your local dealership? They are donating one to you. So of course I start bawling. I could barely talk and so he continued. There will also be groceries, things for the kids, and a surprise. Then I really started bawling. I managed to slip out a thank you. I was, and still am, in shock.

Then I asked him if they took junky cars. Because if by some miracle we did win the van, our son has a car that is on it’s last leg, and we could give him our old car. He said, wow – no one has ever turned the tables like that. Sure, we’ll take it and either fix it up or scrap it for parts.

Wow.Just wow.

We pick it up on the 21st. Have to be there at 5am. So totally worth it.
