Catching Up

I have a bunch of reviews to post. I fell behind this month because of the things going on with dad. I’m going to post them all at once so it’s a biggie.

8 Simple Rules: The Complete First Season

The three-disc box set holds all 28 episodes featuring star John Ritter plus never-before-seen comedic moments with John and the cast from the 2002 season of the Emmy® Award-winning sitcom. First time on DVD!

Stars: John Ritter, Katey Sagal, Kaley Cuoco, Amy Davidson, Martin Spanjers. Created by Tracy Gamble (“According to Jim”)

——-

If you liked the show, then you’ll like this dvd. I never really watched it on tv, but it seems like a cute show.

——-

Home Improvement: The Complete Seventh Season

Starring comedian Tim Allen, this 3-disc compilation nails down all 25 seventh season episodes, plus a new blooper reel sampled from the 1997-1998 season’s funniest outtakes.

Stars: Tim Allen, Patricia Richardson, Jonathan Taylor Thomas, Zachery Ty Bryan, Taran Noah Smith, Richard Karn, and Earl Hindman. Created by Matt Williams and Carmen Finestra (“The Cosby Show”)

I used to love this show, and it was nice to watch some of my favorite episodes again. The kids even sat and watched it with me. Good for the whole family, just like it used to be.

The Tick Vs. Season Two will burrow into your comedic veins with its August 7th 2-disc DVD debut from Buena Vista Home Entertainment.

The cartoon crime-stopper in blue tights – flanked by motley crew Arthur the Moth, American Maid and Die Fliedermaus – stings The City’s evildoers in a dozen episodes. That’s 255 minutes of side-splitting hilarity. To complete the package, the DVD features all-new box art illustrated by Tick creator Ben Edlund and a collectible lithograph.

The Tick Vs. Season Two is crawling with inanity, insanity, and fun! Famous inventors help the blue bug and friends battle a history-changing super-villain in “Leonardo da Vinci and His Fightin’ Genius Time Commandos”; in “The Tick Loves Santa,” an evil St. Nick has discovered a way to clone himself; “The Tick vs. the Big Nothing” pits two groups of aliens against one another in a struggle to save the universe, with the Tick and Arthur caught in the middle.

——-

The kids seemed to like this. Not too terribly excited, but they watched it at least.

Wild Hogs

“A lot can happen on the road to nowhere,” especially when four middle-aged
guys who wanna shake up their suburban lives are at the wheel. So be sure to reserve your laughs for the August 14th DVD and Blu-ray disc release of Wild Hogs from Touchstone Home Entertainment.

The star-studded cast of this hit comedy includes Tim Allen (“Doug”), John Travolta (“Woody”), Martin Lawrence (“Bobby”) and William H. Macy (“Dudley”) as four suburban couch jockeys who suffer from mid-life crises and take motorcycles to the American asphalt expecting nothing but fun and adventure. But being an easy rider isn’t so easy, especially after a chance encounter with the real-life Del Fuegos biker gang proves just how lame and tame the Hogs really are.

——-

This was hilarious. Whole family enjoyed it.

Double trouble arrives on your doorstep August 7th with The Suite Life of Zack and Cody: Sweet Suite Victory DVD from Walt Disney Home Entertainment. The disc includes 3 hilarious episodes themed to competitive rivalry between the stars of the hit Disney Channel series and some sweet suite extras available only on DVD.

Real life twins Dylan (Zack) and Cole (Cody) Sprouse live a charmed, hijinks-filled life atop swank Tipton Hotel in Boston. When mother Carey (Kim Rhoades) isn’t belting out the hits in the Tipton lounge, she’s policing her mayhem-making 12-year-old sons. Ashley Tisdale co-stars as Maddie, a down-to-Earth Tipton Hotel snack counter girl who moonlights as Zack and Cole’s babysitter. Brenda Song is cast as London Tipton, the wealthy, showoff daughter of the hotel’s owner.

We watch this show pretty often, so the kids were happy to watch the dvd. It’s just a cute show. I guess. It’s ok.

Cory in the House

This summer, Disney Channel’s hit series is coming to your house on DVD with all new bonus features. Cast your vote August 7th for the Cory in the House: All-Star Edition DVD from Walt Disney Home Entertainment.

It’s a brand new life for Cory Baxter when his dad, Victor, becomes the personal chef to the President of the United States. Cory’s entrepreneurial scheming reaches new heights as he mingles amongst high-powered Washington D.C. elite. Relive your favorite episodes including guest appearances by Raven in “That’s So In The House,” and Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson in “Never The Dwayne Shall Meet.” Every DVD comes complete with a collectible High School Musical 2 locker poster.

I never watched this show on tv, and no one in my house seemed to impressed with the dvd.

——

Darkwing Duck

Synopsis: In the second installment in the Darkwing Duck collection, Darkwing Duck: Volume 2 DVD, quack crime fighter Darkwing Duck (aka Drake Mallard) and his loyal sidekicks Launchpad McQuack and Gosalyn keep St. Canard safe from a range of villains including angry Christmas trees, ancient pirates, and mutant cabbages from outer space! 27 episodes on 3-Discs provide plenty of laughs for the duck days of summer.

——

The kids weren’t too thrilled with this one. They watched it, but they haven’t made a move for it since. I think that these older cartoons simply have a hard time beating the new animations from Pixar, etc.

This is a pretty good cd. MD swiped it for his car, so it must be pretty decent.

  1. I am waiting for Handy Manny. My husband and I think it is cute and it is set to come out sometime in August. Our 22 month old loves Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, but if they don’t come out with a new one that isn’t the best easter party ever or Mickey Saves santa, I might go nuts.

  2. G and I skipped out of school and work one day and went to see Hog Wild. It was the perfect way to relax both of us after a pretty emotional week.
